A clean and sustainable CO2 storage method in construction materials

چکیده
Abstract Production of building materials emits 11% global carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) emission. The greenhouse gas emission from the construction industry has been tried to mininmize early 1980s; but after four decades development, it is not fully sustainable. Cement second most consumed material in world, water and cement production contributes for 8% CO We produced a greener abundantly available waste: fly ash, blast furnace lag, rice husk ash significantly minimize Discarded aluminium foil becomes one landfilling waste that high potential recycling. On other hand, carbonation curing method stores significant amount into with lesser cost energy compared commercial sequestration. Therefore, we incorporate improve engineering environmental performance cement. changes when using gaseous (gCO supercritical (scCO found scCO condition achieves higher compressive strength yielded stronger barrier against leaching. Hence, this cured can be widely used underground applications, where heavy metal leaching critical issue. Projections show our reducing by 55% Portland direct costs 35%. Also, ultimately reduces hydrogen demand recycling aluminium, which releases pure during process, effect annual 35 million tonnes alone. Adopted globally, system would permanently store 72 stable composite annually. whole, requirement manufacturing future energy, gas, as product.

Sustainable Materials for Sustainable Energy Storage: Organic Na Electrodes
In this review, we summarize research efforts to realize Na-based organic materials for novel battery chemistries. Na is a more abundant element than Li, thereby contributing to less costly materials with limited to no geopolitical constraints while organic electrode materials harvested from biomass resources provide the possibility of achieving renewable battery components with low environment...
متن کاملMaterials for sustainable energy production, storage, and conversion
A steadily growing human population and the growing global economy have led to increasing energy consumption and the realization that fossil fuels are a finite resource on earth. Moreover, due to the rising global temperature, there is a need to reduce CO2 emissions to mitigate or prevent further global warming. Both needs have fueled international efforts to convert the current energy supply s...
متن کاملDevelopment of Co2 Injection Method “cosmos” for Co2 Ocean Storage
Ocean storage of CO2 was proposed by Marchetti as one of greenhouse gas control technologies, where CO2 is captured from flue gas of fossil fuels and injected into deep seafloor below the depth of 3500m to be sequestered from the atmosphere as shown in Fig. 1. In the last decade of the twenties century, there was a great progress in study on the ocean storage. Aya and his colleagues and Nishika...
متن کاملMaterials, critical materials and clean-energy technologies
— Modern engineered materials, components and systems depend on raw materials whose properties provide essential functionality to these technologies. Some of these raw materials are subject to supply-chain risks, and such materials are known as critical materials. This paper reviews corporate, national and world perspectives on material criticality. It then narrows its focus to studies that ass...
